Jamie Carragher once scored a massive 858 on a punch machine ahead of the super-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

Carragher and fellow football pundit Graeme Souness went head-to-head in Sky Sports' boxing challenge back in 2015.

The former Liverpool defender was up first and nailed 806 with the legendary Scot punching a respectful score of 828.

Not happy with his first attempt, 'Carra' went up again: "No, I gotta do another one!

"Not happy with my score, I'm going to give it another go," he added.

He went with a different technique from his first go and it worked - smashing 858 with a powerful right hand.

Carragher's impressive score even beat former world champion boxer Ricky Hatton, who scored 852.

He also couldn't resist a cheeky dig at Jamie Redknapp, hilariously saying: "He's one of the spice boys he can't punch."

It's not the first time Carragher has shown off his handy work having hit the pads with former world champion boxers Tony Bellew and Kell Brook.

He had a training drill with Everton fan Bellew and worked the pads with Sheffield United supporter Brook at Bramall Lane.

The Monday Night Football co-star often takes regular trips to his local boxing club since retiring from football in 2013.
