Phil Foden was the star as England Under 17's won the World Cup in Kolkata last night, with Steve Cooper's side coming from 2-0 down to beat Spain 5-2 and become the second England youth side to win a World Cup in a matter of months.

Stockport-born Foden, Manchester City's top prospect, was irresistible throughout the tournament and he stepped up to the mark when it mattered most, scoring twice in Saturday's triumph.

There's unsurprisingly been a lot of buzz surrounding the 17-year old, and some bookmakers are already offering odds on the left-footed wizard making England's World Cup squad for Russia next summer.

Incredibly, Bet365 are offering odds of 7/1 for Foden to be on the plane and part of Gareth Southgate's travelling party.

When you consider that Foden hasn't even made a first-team appearance, it's a bit mental that those are the odds for him to be with the seniors by the time next summer rolls around.

It's not completely out of question, given that Marcus Rashford came from virtually nowhere to make England's Euro 2016 squad after making the most of his opportunity at Manchester United, but it's still very far-fetched at this point.

Sky Bet are offering much more sensible odds of 33/1 for 'Little Ronnie' to make the squad, with his teammate Jadon Sancho at 25/1 to force his way in.

Foden's excellent display against England saw him receive plenty of plaudits, with his City teammate Benjamin Mendy and MOTD presenter Gary Lineker showering him with praise.
