What Luis Suarez Has Said About Philippe Coutinho Wanting To Join Barcelona

Former Liverpool hero Luis Suarez has spoken about Philippe Coutinho's potential move to Barcelona.

And Liverpool fans won't like the sound of what he's saying.

The brilliant Brazilian was subject to intense transfer speculation during the summer transfer window. Barcelona tabled several mammoth offers but no prevail.

Liverpool didn't succumb to Barcelona's advances with Coutinho staying at Anfield. Though they remain in the market for the player with another bid possible.

The transfer saga got football talking with Suarez now having his say.

"Obviously he must have because he's a player who has ambition," he told Mundo Deportivo about whether Coutinho wanted the move."And any player would want to come to Barcelona."

Coutinho handed in a transfer request to force a deal. Though Liverpool were hellbent on their stance - he's not for sale.

He missed the opening stages of the new season, with Jurgen Klopp slowly reintegrating him back into the fold.

And Suarez acknowledges the stressful period. "He went through a difficult and very complicated moment but as a professional he continued to show how good a player he is.

What could Coutinho add to the Barcelona team?

Well, 'a lot' according to the man who himself completed a switch from Liverpool to Barcelona.

"A lot. I know him as a person and as a player because I played with him, but what Coutinho can contribute everyone knows.

"He is a footballer, who today, plays at a very high level," Suarez added.
