Lionel Messi was tying his laces as Luis Suarez scored Barcelona's third goal against Napoli last night.

Having scored Barca's superb second at the Nou Camp, the Argentine won a penalty after Kalidou Koulibaly kicked through him in the box - VAR eventually coming to the decision of awarding a spot-kick.

But despite being angry about VAR denying him a second goal after he was deemed to have handled the ball, Messi generously allowed Suarez to do the business from 12 yards.

In fact, he was so confident in his teammate's abilities that he was genuinely doing his laces at the exact moment Suarez dispatched the penalty.

Barca secured relatively comfortable passage to the quarter finals after a 4-2 aggregate victory but Messi was rather salty at the end of the game.

Having seen a goal chalked off through VAR, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner had no interest in shaking the referee Cüneyt Çakır's hand at the final whistle.

Messi and Barcelona have been paired with free-scoring Bayern Munich in a mouthwatering quarter final next Friday, with the Blaugrana skipper said to be fine for the fixture despite picking up a knock against Napoli.
