Bayern Munich's lethal striker Robert Lewandowski has recalled his meeting with Victor Lindelof who is on the verge of sealing a transfer to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho has been pursuing the Swedish defender for some time and appears to be on the cusp of completing the deal in a transfer believed to be worth £30 million.

The 22-year-old has to undergo his medical and agree personal terms before becoming an official United player. It's set to be Mourinho's first signing following continued talks between the club and Real Madrid for Alvaro Morata.

As well as Lindelof and Morata, United seem to be edging closer to sign both AS Monaco sensation Fabinho not to mention Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.

But while the talents of Fabinho, Perisic and Morata are evident following their performances at the highest level or in the Champions League, Lindelof is still fairly an unknown quantity.

Though a performance against Bayern Munich left a lasting impression on Lewandowski, and will no doubt excite the Old Trafford faithfuls.

Continuing to praise him by saying he's one of the best defenders, along with his partner, he'd faced in the last year.

Mourinho will be hoping to forge a solid defensive shape ahead of the new campaign. Last summer, he drafted in Eric Bailly who showed a glimpse of his undeniable potential.

The prospect of Bailly and Lindelof in the heart of United's defence could prove to be a huge success.
