What Frank Lampard And Steven Gerrard Text One Another About

Frank Lampard has revealed he keeps close contact with Rangers boss Steven Gerrard as the rookie bosses find their way in football management.

The Derby gaffer has told how the ex-England team-mates have offered each other support throughout their debut seasons as first team bosses.

Lampard and Gerrard were rivals when it came to the international set-up and England's 'Golden Generation'.

"We were at the Champions League final together last year, Stevie was just about to take the Rangers job and this was coming up as an opportunity for me so we spoke a lot about it. We were both pretty clear we wanted to manage, even when we were working together in the media.

"It's good to see him going so well there with such a big club. I know now from being here that every job is difficult in its own merits and I think he's done a really good job. I'm sure with his personality and knowledge and how he is, Steven's going to make a success of himself."

Lamps' Derby side side currently sit two points off a Premier League play-off place ahead of their clash with Nottingham Forest on Monday night.
