Cristiano Ronaldo is a man who does not lack confidence but even he has admitted he could not have predicted his incredible level of success.

While in recent years CR7 has talked about having the feeling he could play into his 40s, he's revealed that, as a youngster, he thought he would be a fisherman back in Madeira, the small island he grew up in.

"'I thought I was going to be a fisherman in Madeira," he told Canal 11, as per the Daily Mail.

"This never came into my mind. I wanted to be a professional footballer but I didn't think I was going to win everything I've won."

Ronaldo celebrated his 35th birthday on Wednesday and the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is still going strong. His body is still in the physical state of a 20-year old and he's shown no signs of declining - with 22 goals in 27 games for Juventus so far this term.

He continues to break records on and off the pitch, having recently become the first person to reach 200 million Instagram followers.

Ronaldo's global appeal and marketability is unparalleled and he told SPORTbible in an exclusive interview that he has his eyes set on conquering the business world once he eventually hangs up his boots.

He said: I still love football. I love to entertain the fans and the people who love Cristiano. It doesn't matter the age, it's all about mentality.

"The last five years I start to enjoy this process of seeing me outside of football, so who knows what will happen in the next year or two?"

One venture he's keen to explore is the world of film, as he revealed during a talk at the Dubai International Sports Conference last month.

As per AS, he said: "The moment my body is no longer responding in the right way on the field, then it would be the time to leave. I aspire to continue my studies after retiring from football.

"One of the things that I seek to challenge myself in, for example, is acting in a movie. I hope I live more than 50 years to learn new things and face different challenges and try to find solutions for them."
