West Ham held on to seal a famous victory over Liverpool on Sunday evening, handing Jurgen Klopp's side their first defeat of the season.

The Hammers got off to a flyer after just four minutes, after Allison failed to deal with a Pablo Formals corner, that went straight into the Brazilian's net.

The visitors soon rallied, however, with Trent Alexander-Arnold expertly curling a freekick into the top corner of the net, to restore parity in the 41st minute.

The second half saw Liverpool pile the pressure on, with Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota missing big chances.

However, Formals was the danger man again as the Spaniard slotted home after 67 minutes to give West Ham a crucial lead.

It was 3--1 soon after, following yet another well-worked corner kick from David Moyes side, Kurt Zouma being the goalscorer on this occasion.

Liverpool did pull one back courtesy of Divock Origi, but it was too little too late, handing West Ham a huge win that promotes them to third in the Premier League table.

Here are some of the reactions the Iron's win.

It was a poor showing Liverpool, by contrast, with Alisson's disaster class a big topic on social media.
