Wendell Lira's new career path as a YouTube personality has proven to be a lucrative one.
After being awarded with the FIFA Puskas Award for his nimble half-bicycle kick pipping Lionel Messi to the prize, the Brazilian subsequently called time on his playing career to pursue life as a gaming YouTuber.
Via UOL Esporte, Lira detailed his monetary situation by claiming he rakes in more dough as a YouTuber than he did as a professional footballer.

"The salary I receive today is greater than what had during my career as a footballer. It's changed completely. Now I can give a better life for my family, for my daughter. Today there is no shortage of things to her.
Of course it's only been two months and I am still structuring the financial part, and it will take a little bit. But for many years I've had these financial problems, but the [YouTube] channel has helped me a lot, thank God."
Nearly hitting the 130,000 subscribers mark on his channel - WLPSKS (acronym for "Wendell Lira Puskas") - the 27-year-old continues to add;
"E-sports are growing. They have won many followers and the trend is only growing. During all this crisis [in Brazil], the area which is fastest growing and continues to rise is that of gaming and game creation.
