Sky Sports Want Us To Get Up Close And Personal With Cristiano Ronaldo

We aren't sure about this!

Happy 25th Birthday Sky Sports! That's right the chaps who give us weekly live Premier League football, 24 hour sports news fixes, late night WWE entertainment and absolute bucket loads of other sporting godliness is 25 years old today. But whilst they celebrate their managing director has an idea we just aren't sure about.

At Sky Sports HQ today there's probably a cake so big it would make Yaya Toure's eyes water but of course they might be celebrating today but the inventor of innovation when it comes to sport coverage won't be resting on their laurels just yet.

Sky Sports' managing director, Barney Francis, revealed that he wants to use micro cameras on the players to get closer to the action saying:

"I want to be on Cristiano Ronaldo's shoulder, in real time. That's the challenge I've set, but we haven't got there yet."

Now we love an immersive experience and innovative camera angles and cool new gadgets for Jamie Carragher, and hopefully Gary Neville once again, to play with during MNF but to be honest we could do without Ronaldo's shoulder's view of the match to be perfectly honest.

That said imagine the scenes from the dressing room when someone forgets to turn the cameras off. Yeah, only bad can come from this!
