Life for Arsenal fans isn't too positive at the moment. Nine points behind leaders Chelsea after a loss to struggling Watford during the week and now a meeting with the league leaders on the weekend. But there's a piece of news that might cheer them up. (It probably won't.)

Arsenal kicked off their usual mid season slump, and collapse out of every competition, a little bit early this season with their loss against Watford. It was followed with the usual hilarious Arsenal TV meltdown.

Check out our video on what could have been for Arsenal:

The Gunners could further hit in the next couple of months as they start February against Chelsea before an FA Cup game away against Sutton later in the month plus Liverpool at the beginning of March and a Champions League encounter with old foes Bayern Munich over two legs too.

But there is a saviour!

Arsene Wenger, clearly spotting the danger of Bayern, has added three names to his Champions League squad. Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck are added after recovering from injures and then there is Yaya Sanogo.

Yep, that's right Yaya Sanogo. We didn't even realise he was still playing for them!

The striker hasn't played any football since April, when he was on loan with Charlton, and has been suffering from a mystery calf injury for the past nine months.

But now he could be back to serve Bayern Munich their biggest lesson. It's fair to say Arsenal fans were as surprised as the rest of us:
