Former Barcelona star Juan Roman Riquelme claims Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos would be nowhere near as prolific in front of goal if he played in South America.
Reports this week showed that Real would be nine points worse off without Ramos' goals this season - he's scored seven times in La Liga, most of which have proved decisive in getting points on the board for Zinedine Zidane's side.
However, despite the Spaniard scoring yet another goal in the 2-1 victory over Real Betis at the weekend, it appears Riquelme isn't quite buying it.

In fact, the Argentina icon claims Ramos would barely score a goal if he were playing in South America, claiming the marking outside of Europe is much better.
"In South America, they mark in a different way," Riquelme, who spent time at Villarreal and his beloved Boca Juniors after leaving the Camp Nou, told Canal 13.
"They wouldn't let Sergio Ramos get a run going, he wouldn't score a goal."

It seems particularly harsh from Riquelme, especially considering Ramos has previously netted in both the 2014 and 2016 Champions League finals.
However, should we expect anything less from a player who once lined up on the other side of the El Classico divide?
