A win tonight will guarantee England finish top of group B after taking four points from their first two games against Russia and Wales. It hasn't been an easy ride for Roy Hodgson's side, who left it until the last minute to take all three points against the Welsh.

Hodgson received a lot of criticism on Thursday after fielding the same starting XI which took just one point against Russia. But although things didn't start well, his decision to bring on Jamie Vardy and Daniel Sturridge changed the game completely.

So, should Hodgson remain as the England boss after Euro 2016?

Hodgson's contract expires after the tournament in France and England captain Wayne Rooney has now given his opinion on the situation.

Speaking ahead of the game against Slovakia, the Manchester United striker said: "It is down to his bosses but of course, as players, we want him to stay. It shouldn't go unnoticed the amount of young players he's introduced into the squad over the last four years.

"There was a big issue in terms of everyone saying we didn't have the young players coming through in England which other countries had. In fairness to the Premier League clubs they've brought young players through and Roy has picked them.

"In my opinion he has not only created a very good team but also a fantastic atmosphere around the training ground when we meet up, and a great base for England's future in the next six to eight years."
