Carlos Tevez has revealed that Wayne Rooney gave him a Lamborghini after the Argentine was the butt of jokes at United over his old car.
At Manchester United, supercars are very common, with the majority of the players at United these days on over £100,000 a week, a Lamborghini or Ferrari aren't as rare as they once were.
However, when Carlos Tevez joined United back in the summer of 2007, Tevez was using the car that United gave to all their players - a brand new Audi, but, it wasn't on the level as the vehicles owned by the fringe players, let alone the stars.
Tevez said that even the worst players had Ferraris and that they treated his brand new Audi like a Fiat 600.
"At Manchester United practices, everybody, even the worst player, showed up in a Ferrari. I appeared with the Audi that the club gave you and I was bullied by all, as if it were a Fiat 600.
"I started to ask what was wrong, but Rooney just said, 'Take this Lamborghini'. He gave his one to me."
Rooney and Tevez got on well in their short tenure together at United, with Tevez believing that their troubled upbringings helped them come together faster than the majority of the other players.
"I identified a lot with him by the place where he came from, which was a low area of Liverpool." he said.
"He always fought [for] the ball as if it were the last, he played like me. I felt very personal, I was very reflected in him."
Tevez ultimately left United for rivals Manchester City, before turning out for Juventus, Shanghai Shenhua and winding up at former club Boca Juniors.
