But he was back with a bang on Wednesday evening, firing PSG to the French Cup final by bagging a brace in a 3-1 win away from home.
Brimming with confidence, the £166 million man went all FIFA street on the left-back in the first-half.
Receiving the ball on the touchline with opposition players swarming around him, Mbappe deliciously scooped the ball over Vincent Bessat's head in one swift motion and sent him packing.
The ludicrously talented 19-year old is currently four-star skills on FIFA 18 but he proved he's deserving of an upgrade to five-stars in FIFA 19 with this dreamy piece of play.

While the recovering defender did well to stop Mbappe in his tracks, we still think Mbappe's madness deserves a bright light shining on it.

Remarkably, after his double last night, Mbappe has now reached 50 goals for club and country and has done so at a younger age than five-time Ballon d'Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
As weird as it sounds, £166 million could well turn out to be bargain down the line; that's how good Mbappe is.
