A bad day at the office.

In our Sunday League ventures, we've bound to have had some bad days at the office.

I've been on the receiving end of some lashings over the years, including an 18-2 loss many years ago. It's not a nice feeling and even though I wasn't playing in goal, I have sympathy for a goalkeeper in Peru who conceded 22 goals in a single game recently.

Jhiner Chavez was in between the sticks for third division Valle Real against rivals Santa Rosa in the Copa Peru competition and he was so annoyed with his individual display that he confessed to crying when he went home.

He also said picking the ball out of his net 22 times left him feeling "impotent and ashamed".

Assessing his performance, he said:

"I felt a lot of sadness.

"After the match I went to my house and cried. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.

"This is a thing I will remember all my life, but it will never happen again!"

Unfortunately for Chavez, clips of his performance have been posted online and he won't want to use any footage in a YouTube compilation of himself, that's for sure.
