Watch: Did Sir Alex Ferguson Give Jose Mourinho Some Selection Advice?

Very interesting viewing for Manchester United fans...

It looks like Sir Alex Ferguson gave Jose Mourinho a bit of advice with his team selections yesterday.

United's greatest ever manager and the current boss, Mourinho, were both in attendance for a memorial service at Old Trafford to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Munich air disaster, where 23 people lost their lives.

Thousands of supporters were in attendance, while crash survivors Sir Bobby Charlton and Harry Gregg, were both there in the stands.

And in a clip doing the rounds, Ferguson embraces Mourinho and appears to tell him to pick Scott McTominay more often.

First, the legendary Scotsman shakes hands with a number of United midfielders, and had a brief chat with McTominay, fresh from his start against Huddersfield Town in the 2-0 victory at the weekend.

You can't hear exactly what Ferguson told Mourinho but he's pointing in the direction of the 21-year old, who had just walked by.

It led plenty of people to believe he was telling his former rival, now in the same dug-out he was in for many years, to play him more regularly.

Despite being absolutely clattered by Terence Kongolo in the game, McTominay, who has been with United since the age of five, made a decent impression on Saturday, where he was brought in to replace Paul Pogba.

Mourinho showered praise on McTominay, who is well on his way to becoming what Darren Fletcher was to Sir Alex Ferguson.

"I made a few changes thinking about the characteristics of this game and I think this kid [McTominay] has a great desire to recover the ball when the team is not in possession," Mourinho said post-match.

"He's a kid that chases the ball, that tries to recover high up the pitch and when he has the ball it is always simple and against opponents like Huddersfield, so close and with so many bodies behind the ball, the simplicity sometimes is genius."

Should McTominay see more game-time at United?

Sound off in the comments.
