The FIFA: The Best winner cut a frustrated figure.

Recently crowned world player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo cut a frustrated figure in the 2-1 defeat against Girona on Sunday, and the Real Madrid star could well be in a spot of bother for an incident that took place in the game.

On a corner, the four time Ballon d'Or winner was involved in a tussle with Pere Pons as both competed to get to the ball.

At first, it's as if Ronaldo is merely getting a feel of his opponent's hair to discover any new shampoo and conditioning techniques but he follows that up by scraping the palm of his hand across his face.

Ronaldo has already been banned for putting his hands on someone this season, having been hit with a five-match suspension after shoving the referee after he was shown a red card in the Spanish Super Cup first leg game against Barcelona.

He missed four La liga fixtures as a result, and if he was to be banned again, which is a definite possibility, it would be a major blow to Zinedine Zidane's side.

Los Blancos are struggling at the moment, with today's shock away loss to La Liga debutants Girona leaving them eight points behind Barcelona.

Can Real turn their early season slump around or is it already too late for them to catch Barca?
