Vinicius Jr's Highlights Vs Borussia Monchengladbach Emerge After Karim Benzema Tells Ferland Mendy Not To Pass To Him

Vinicius Jr's highlights from the Champions League game against Borussia Monchengladbach have emerged after he was criticised by teammate Karim Benzema.
In footage of him speaking to Ferland Mendy in French in the tunnel as players got ready to start the second half, the Real Madrid striker allegedly bad-mouthed Vinicius, who was not too far away from the exchange.
"He does what he wants," Benzema says per Téléfoot. "Don't play with him, brother. He plays against us."

Benzema did not pass to the young Brazilian in the second half, having given him the ball on three occasions during the opening 45 minutes.
And a compilation of Vinicius' display gives some backstory as to why Benzema became so frustrated with his colleague.
While the Flamengo youth product had plenty of bright dribbles and nice touches, he was incredibly careless on the ball and conceded possession on a number of occasions.

He was also wasted a great chance when picked out by Federico Valverde and received the lowest mark from MARCA in their player ratings from the game.
With Real Madrid 2-0 down in Germany, Vinicius was hooked 20 minutes from time and replaced by Eden Hazard. Real then went on to notch two late goals through Benzema and Casemiro to avoid a second consecutive defeat in the Champions League group stage.

It cancelled out a brace from Marcus Thuram, who made his mark on the European stage less than a week after Googling himself when asked to show ID upon entry to the stadium.
