Vinicius Jr has covered some serious miles in this international break, but none were actually on the pitch.

The 20-year-old was picked by Tite for World Cup qualifying wins over Venezuela and Uruguay but did not play a single minute for the Selecao.

He was again an unused substitute in last night's 1-0 and is expected to fly back to Madrid tonight before returning to training with Zinedine Zidane's side tomorrow, as per MARCA.

His total journey, where he's gone for Madrid to Rio, Rio to Sao Paulo and back, Rio to Montevideo and Montevideo to Madrid, accumulated 20,700 kilometres.

You have to feel for the former Flamengo youngster for travelling all that way without even kicking a ball but the good news for him is he is likely to start for Real against Villarreal due to Eden Hazard's positive COVID-19 test.

Prior to the latest international break, Vinicius was criticised by teammate Karim Benzema in the tunnel during a 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach.

In footage of him speaking to Mendy in French as players got ready to start the second half of the Champions League game against Gladbach, Benzema allegedly bad-mouthed Vinicius, who was not too far away from the exchange.

"He does what he wants," Benzema said, as per Téléfoot. "Don't play with him, brother. He plays against us."

Benzema immediately apologised to Vinicius during training and with the two always having a good relationship, they have drawn a line under the matter.

Real followed up that result with wins over Huesca and Inter Milan before being battered 4-1 by Valencia in their most recent fixture on 8 November.
