Video Shows Cristiano Ronaldo's 'Lack Of Effort' In Champions League Win Over Ferencváros

Just like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo was guilty of not pressing.

Like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo was also guilty of not pressing in a Champions League win on Wednesday.

Messi received widespread criticism in the 2-1 win over Dynamo Kiev after displaying a quite remarkable lack of work-rate in the latter stages of the game.

Just before the final whistle was blown in the 2-1 win, Messi was seen strolling about and refusing to go after Oleksandr Andrievsky as he carried the ball forward in the middle of the pitch.

It wasn't a great look from the Barcelona skipper, although another clip from earlier in the game did show him sprinting back in to give his team extra numbers and stop a counter attack.

However, a Messi fan has posted a clip to highlight that Ronaldo was doing the same - if not worse - in Juventus' 4-1 win away at Ferencváros.

Jokingly titled 'The King Of Cristiano Ronaldo - The King Of Pressing', the video sees two instances of Ronaldo not pulling his weight.

The first was him walking as the unchallenged opposition defender played a pass in the 82nd minute and the second, in stoppage time, was much worse.

Ronaldo was the one who lost the ball after being outmuscled by a defender near the by-line and with the opponent just yards in front of them, he simply stood and watched.

Remarkably, he was still there in an offside position even when possession was turned over and Juventus went on the attack.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was playing in his second game since returning from a lay-off due to testing positive for COVID-19 and so you could perhaps attribute that to him not quite having the energy late on.

But then again this is Ronaldo, a physical freak, that we are talking about.
