Compilation Of Thiago Alcantara's Signature Move Is Footballing Perfection

The Spaniard is such an aesthetically pleasing footballer...

Thiago Alcantara is an absolutely mesmeric footballer, so much so that you never get tired of him doing the same trick over and over again.

We've seen a whole host of players develop their own signature moves, from Johan Cruyff to Diego Maradona - and though Thiago's trademark turn is a pretty simple one - it works an absolute treat.

An extremely satisfying 56 second compilation of him doing it has been widely shared about social media, garnering over 1.2 million views in the process.

As seen in the video - or in any game he's ever played for that matter - the Spain international regularly takes the ball of his centre-backs and kills the opposition press in one swift move before picking out a pass.

Always one step ahead and anticipating an opponent committing, one little feint and touch around the corner and Thiago is away. He does it time and time again.

It's similar to his former Bayern Munich teammate Arjen Robben in the sense that opposition players know what he's going to do and yet they still can't stop him.

The 29-year-old has just come off the back of playing a key role in a memorable treble for Bayern but could well be seeing his signature move in the Premier League very soon

Premier League champions Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the former Barcelona midfield metronome, with it looking increasingly likely that Thiago has bowed out of Bayern with a Champions League triumph.

A failed transfer target for Manchester United under David Moyes, Thiago would be an incredible addition to Liverpool's midfield.

England and United legend Wayne Rooney, now a player-coach at Derby County, is looking forward to seeing him strut his stuff in the top flight - even if he's not best pleased with his likely destination.

"He's one of the best midfielders around - I just hope he doesn't go there!" he wrote in his Sunday Times column.

"He can take the ball, be composed on it, keep things ticking over - and he'll put his foot in. He's an all-round midfielder, really, with a bit of everything.

"He backs up that Bayern press and he drops in between the centre halves to take the ball yet can also join in when they're playing around the other box too.

"He's a great player. It would be great to see him in the Premier League, actually."
