Jamie Vardy has revealed that he could have ended up at West Ham before signing for Leicester City.

During his time at Fleetwood Town, Vardy caught the attention of current England manager Sam Allardyce, who wanted to bring the now Premier League winning striker to Upton Park.

Vardy found out about big Sam's interest when he met up with the England squad, recently and Allardyce confirmed that he had in fact tried to prise the 29-year-old away from the non-league outfit.

"When I first arrived for the squad, the manager told me a little story of when I was at Fleetwood and their manager was trying to get him to sign me at West Ham."

To be fair, as incredible as Leicester's title victory was last season, the thought of Jamie Vardy and Andy Carroll out on the town together after inspiring the Hammers to victory is actually a much more exciting prospect and it's a crying shame we never saw that dream realised.
