Incredible VAR drama...

Manchester United vs Reading wasn't the only game to feature proper VAR drama, there was all sorts of madness at Turf Moor where Burnley entertained League One Barnsley in the FA Cup third round tie.

The home fans were buzzing when their first penalty from since September 2017 was awarded but then in a crazy series of events, VAR came into play just as Matej Vydra was starting his run-up.

Former Watford man Vydra was literally on the verge of striking the ball from 12 yards as referee Simon Hooper conferred with his assistant.

And the officials came to the decision that Stefan Defour was offside prior to the foul being committed, with Barnsley getting a free-kick as a result.

It was the first time VAR had been featured in a Burnley game and Sean Dyche was absolutely fuming - as was the Clarets' twitter account judging by their half-time tweet.

Then, to thicken the plot somewhat later on, Burnley were given a penalty in stoppage time after another foul on Vydra and this time Chris Wood stepped up to fire home the winner.
