Mohamed Salah has started to silence his critics after finding his goalscoring form for Liverpool this season.
The 26-year-old Egyptian forward scored a hat-trick against Bournemouth earlier this month, as well as grabbing a brilliant 90th-minute winner for Egypt against Tunisia in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in November.
However, it is not surprising that many football fans have noticed his behaviour after he finds the back of the net, mainly for his lack of celebration.
Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk has dismissed speculation that his teammate is unhappy at the club.
"He's scoring goals. He's smiling. He can't smile every second of the day, but he's enjoying it I think," he said (via the Daily Mail).
"He's scoring his goals, he's working hard, defensively as well. We don't need to see any negative things about that [goal celebration], so we just need to focus on the good things."
Salah's superb form for the Reds last season has left many people to question his success at Anfield in the second season. However, the 27-year-old Dutch centre-back claims that the former Roma star is still instrumental in the success of the team.
"He scored a hat-trick in his last league game and again against Napoli, a very important one. He's been doing very well," he explained.
"People can say he's not scoring as much goals as last year, but that's always the media.
"People underestimate how strong he is. He's a very important player, great guy and is deadly in the box."
