Donny van de Beek's woes continue to mount at Old Trafford as the former Ajax star is reportedly 'upset' at Manchester United and 'doesn't want to do interviews anymore.'

The Red Devils landed the 23-year-old Dutch midfielder from Ajax in the summer for an initial fee of £35m.

However, Van De Beek has been struggling to become a regular starter under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and found his match time very limited.

The ex-Ajax midfielder waited until late November to receive his first Premier League start, but he didn't play any minutes over the festive period.

The Dutch press had 'advised' Van De Beek that he should 'pack his bags straight away' if he was snubbed for United's League Cup semi-final clash with Manchester City.

But the United midfielder only managed a late cameo as he came on in the 88th minute to replace Fred in United's 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Dutch publication SoccerNews now reports that Van De Beek is now 'upset' and 'disappointed' with how his early career at Old Trafford is playing out.

The report also mentioned that the Netherlands international doesn't want to do any interviews as a result of his treatment.

Former Ajax star Ronald de Boer has urged his compatriot to speak with the United board and clear up doubt surrounding his role at the club ahead of Euro 2020.

The 50-year-old Dutchman told AD: "Euro 2020 is coming, he will undoubtedly want to be there. Maybe it would be good for him to discuss with the club exactly what they want with him.

"If the view on playing time does not improve, he may have to declare that he should be loaned or even sold.

"You have to be lucky every now and then. Of course, it doesn't look great now, but with a great performance it can suddenly change completely.

"We also don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Perhaps they have made certain agreements with his transfer, they will get him ready for next year this season.

"That always remains a bit of a guess."

AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has suggested that United should consider a swap deal involving Van De Beek and Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen.
