Spirits at Old Trafford may have been lifted by Sunday's derby victory over neighbours Manchester City, but the majority of people involved with the red side of the city still want to see the back of Louis Van Gaal at the end of the season. One United player, however, hopes the Dutch coach sticks around.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who has benefited from Van Gaal's tutelage, having been given a chance in the first team recently due to defensive injuries wants to see his countryman remain in the Old Trafford hotseat.
Speaking to De Telegraaf, Fosu-Mensah said "Van Gaal is a man with real personality. I still think it's great that I was able to make my debut under him. Do I hope he stays? Of course!"
Advert
It is widely expected that Van Gaal will be replaced by Jose Mourinho at United next season, but a top four finish and an FA Cup victory could yet change those plans.
