UEFA Introduce Price Cap On Away Tickets For Champions League And Europa League Games

It's a welcome change for fans after complaints of extortionate prices last season...

UEFA have announced a price cap on away tickets for games in the Champions League and Europa League starting this season.

The European football governing body confirmed that away tickets in the Champions League will cost €70 euros (£63.50) at the most, with fans of clubs in the Europa League paying no more than €45 (£41).

It's said that Spanish clubs were not in favour of the change, while British and German clubs wanted even more of a reduction, but UEFA have decided to act on the many complaints.

Last season, both Liverpool and Manchester United decided to take a stand against Barcelona's ridiculous ticket prices.

The two English clubs were charged €119 euros for a ticket in the Camp Nou away end and so they responded by upping their away ticket prices to the same number for home legs, using the extra €31 per ticket to bring the cost down to €88 euros so that their travelling supporters were subsidised.
