Mike Tyson has told the incredible story of the time one of his pet tigers attacked a trespasser.

Back in the day, 'the Baddest Man on the Planet' couldn't settle with having dogs, cats, rabbits or fish as his pets. Instead, he had to go ahead and get some tigers because he was a "young guy" and thought it would be "cool".

And during an Instagram live chat with rapper Fat Joe, Tyson was asked about a rumour that Tyson was sued when one of his tigers escaped and attacked a neighbour.

'Iron' Mike was quick to clear up the story and gave an even crazier version of events that saw him give $250,000 to a woman following on from the injuries she suffered from trying to be friends with the tiger.

No, no Joe, that's not what happened," he began.

"Somebody jumped over my fence and got into the inhabitant with the tigers and started playing with them. The tiger didn't know the lady so it was a bad accident."

Joe asked Tyson if he was sued for the damages, to which he revealed he ended up giving away a quarter of a million dollars because he felt bad.

He replied: "Well, they tried to until they found out that she had jumped over the fence and trespassed."

"Listen, when I saw what the tiger had done to her hand, I had a lot of money back then, I just gave $250,00 or whatever it was because she was just f***** up Joe."

Roseanne Barr interviewed the former world heavyweight champion at his mansion back as part of the 'Inside Edition' programme back in 1996 and CBS captured some incredible footage of Tyson sparring with his white bengal tiger, Kenya.

There's playing with your dog and then there's playing with a tiger. Absolutely no fear in the world from Tyson.

The 53-year old lived with the tiger for over a decade but then, after around 16 years, made the decision to get rid of her.

Speaking to GQ Sports earlier this year, Tyson said: "I did have a pet tiger, her name was Kenya and she was around 550 pounds.

"I had a great affection for her; I kept her, I slept with her, I kept her in my room.

"She stayed with me I had her about 16 years. But she got too old and I had to get rid of her when her eyes and her head got bad.

"Oh and she ripped somebody's arm off."
