Virgil van Dijk is clearly so confident in the abilities of teammate Mohamed Salah that he pretty much thinks it's a goal as soon as he makes that run off the touchline.

The Egyptian notched his 32nd goal of the season in the 2-0 win over Newcastle at the weekend, beating Luis Suarez's best ever goals return of 31 in the 2013/14 campaign.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, really beginning to find his feet on Merseyside, stole possession in the middle of the park and played through Salah, who slotted home past Martin Dubravka in the Magpies' goal.

Incredibly, in footage seen on Liverpool's 'Tunnel Cam' on their official website, ยฃ75 million man Van Dijk's hands are aloft before Oxlade-Chamberlain had even played the inch-perfect pass.

He was pretty much celebrating when a fair bit of work still needed to be done, but it shows how much faith he has in Salah, who gets in so many promising goalscoring positions.

You can see the the mad moment around 6:35 into the following clip:

Having struggled in his first stint in England with Chelsea, Salah has been an utter revelation this season and has 24 league goals to his name, which is quite remarkable when you consider he's a wide player rather then a centre-forward.

Steven Gerrard has an explanation as to why he's bagged so many goals and shed light in an interview with the official Liverpool website.

"If the ball went out wide, I'd always attack areas where you can get goals," he explained.

"That's where my numbers as a midfielder grew. And that's what Jurgen has done to him [Salah].

"When Jurgen signed him he has said to him, 'I don't want you stuck out wide on the wings creating for other people, I want you to be the main man. You're going to be the top scorer in this team, so attack the sticks and attack central areas.'"
