Is Zlatan Ibrahimovic heading back to Europe in January? Well, reports certainly indicate that.

The Swedish hero is doing the business in the States, bagging goals for fun at LA Galaxy since his transfer from Manchester United.

He's netted a superb 20 goals in 24 league games, including some absolutes worldies.

But with the 2018 Major League Soccer season coming to an end, Ibrahimovic is reportedly seeking a loan move away from California ahead of the new American campaign.

And one of his former clubs have been heavily linked with a move for the 37-year-old striker. Enter; AC Milan.

The Serie A outfit are keeping tabs on a January loan move for Ibrahimovic according to Italian outlet Corriere della Serra.

AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso wished Ibrahimovic a happy birthday whilst responding to claims he's after the player.

"Today is his birthday, so I wish him many happy returns," Gattuso said.

"I'll only speak about the players I have available, ask Maldini, Leonardo and [Paolo] Scaroni. Today I just want to wish Ibra a happy birthday and wish him all the best."

He added: "It's not easy to return after the injury he had, so I wish him all the best on his 37th birthday. [Gonzalo] Higuain can be as devastating as Ibra, he has less physicality but he brings us a lot of quality.

"In terms of character it's a lot more stressful to train with Ibra, Zlatan raises the tension. Pipita, on the other hand, is always willing to make his teammates smile."

Ibrahimovic enjoyed two seasons at AC Milan between 2010 to 2012.
