Wolves are said to be in talks for another sensational move for one of Jorge Mendes' clients.

Due to the involvement of the Portuguese super agent, who represents several of the world's biggest players, the Championship winners have signed a slew of his clients in recent times.

The likes of Ivan Cavaleiro, Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and Ruben Neves have all been snapped up - the latter joining from Porto for a Championship record fee of £15.8 million.

The 21-year old's surprise transfer to Molineux was also a club-record fee but after their promotion back to the Premier League, it looks nailed on that Nuno Espirito Santo will splash out on more marquee signings ahead of the new campaign.

And one such target is Portugal international Joao Cancelo, who spent the season on loan at Inter Milan from Valencia.

Sky in Italy say the two clubs are in negotiations, with £35 million the fee being talked about for the Benfica youth product.

He has courted interested from Manchester United in the past but could now end up playing at Old Trafford as a Wolves player next erm.

Mendes, who has a close relationship with Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo among others, is controlling a large chunk of Wolves' transfers - to the point where transfer rumours involving them don't seem so bizarre any more.

They have also been linked with two other Mendes clients in the form of Sporting's Rui Patricio and AC Milan's Andre Silva, having already wrapped up permanent deals for Benik Afobe and Willy Boly, who were both key in their dominant 2017/18 campaign.
