West Ham Set To Spend Big On Premier League Star

A bid has been made

No sooner had West Ham pocketed an estimated £16m for Diafra Sakho, who will be joining West Brom, than Slaven Bilic has identified the player he wishes to spend the money on, in the form of Swansea's Andre Ayew.

The 26-year-old was one of the few shining lights of an otherwise disappointing for the Swans, last season and it doesn't look as though the Ghanaian will be sticking around the Liberty Stadium for the 2016/17 campaign.

However, it's not all bad news for the Welsh club, as the move represents £20m profit on a player they signed for free, last Summer. Should the move go ahead, Ayew will become the Hammers' fifth signing of the transfer window, following Gokhan Tore, Ashley Fletcher, Havard Nordtveit and Sofiane Feghouli.

Along with Dimitri Payet's commitment to staying with the club, Slaven Bilic could potentially have all the ingredients to turn West Ham from plucky underdogs to Championship contenders, in much the same way Rey Mysterio and Daniel Bryan's momentum snowballed en route to winning WWE World Heavyweight gold (A Leicester City comparison would have been too simple). Although, if I'm being honest, I'd rather see Slaven Bilic winning the WWE Title at WrestleMania than West Ham winning the Premier League. In fact, I'd rather see that than anything else in the world.
