Tottenham's long wait for a first summer signing of 2017 is almost over, with Spurs agreeing a deal for Ajax's Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez.
The North London club are set to pay £28 million up front for the 21-year-old, with a further £14 million potentially paid to Ajax in add-ons and bonuses, depending on how successful the Colombian youngster is in North London.

Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy held talks with Ajax over a deal for Sanchez last week, with the Amsterdam club offering the 21-year-old a new deal worth £60,000-per-week in a last ditch effort to keep him at the Amsterdam Arena.
Sanchez was named Ajax's player of the year for his performances last season and was also a reported target of Internazionale and Real Madrid.

The Colombia international made 43 appearances in total last season, scoring six goals. He has won two senior international caps for Colombia, having also represented them at U17 and U20 level.
