The Motive Behind Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's Transfer To Arsenal

Bad news for Arsenal fans is that Alexis Sanchez is set to leave, but there is good news in the shape of the imminent arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

However, the reason he's apparently joining may not go down well with the Arsenal lot.

Sanchez is due to complete a transfer to Manchester United. While Henrik Mkhitaryan is reportedly going the other way. As well as the Armenian play maker, Arsene Wenger will boost his squad with the addition of Aubameyang who's finalising a deal.

The Gabon striker is on fire in front of goal this season.

He's already weighed in with 21 goals from 23 games in all competitions. But it appears he's viewing the move to the Emirates as a stepping stone to Real Madrid.

Gary Al-Smith of BBC and New York Times claims: "Auba sees AFC as last chance to get that dream Real Madrid move."

In January 2017, Aubameyang declared Real Madrid as the dream move.

"If I want to go to the next level, I need to leave in summer," he told RMC via Independent.

"But we must see the proposals and if I'm going to play. Real Madrid is still a dream, but there has been too much noise," Aubameyang added.

While he hasn't got his switch to the La Liga giants, Aubameyang has appeared to fulfill his wish of leaving the Bundesliga.

At 28-years-old, does Aubameyang still have a chance of sealing a move to the Bernabeu?

Club president Florentino Perez is seeking younger talent with the Spanish and European champions keeping tabs on Harry Kane, Neymar and Eden Hazard, among others.

Meanwhile, we await official word on Aubameyang to Arsenal.
