It has been one of the biggest transfer rumours of the summer, but it looks like Liverpool have agreed a club record fee for RB Leipzig's Naby Keita, but there's a catch.

According to The Times journalist Paul Joyce, the 22-year-old will complete his Liverpool medical today, but Keita will officially join on July 1, 2018.

Joyce then goes onto claim that Jurgen Klopp's side 'paid premium now on top of next summer's £48million release clause.'

Back in July, According to the Mirror, Liverpool were prepared to make one final push to try and sign the midfielder from the German side with a bid believed to be in excess of £70 million.

The Premier League side have twice had bids rejected for the 22 year old Guinean midfielder but the club aren't willing to approach other targets until they're sure they can't sign him.

Leipzig have said they have no interest in selling the player but Liverpool's attempts to bring him in seem to have turned his head.

A move for Keita could be as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, but it seems more likely that Klopp wants him as an addition to the squad but not as a replacement.
