What a guy.

Charly Musonda's move to Celtic was confirmed last night, with the talented winger choosing the No.67 shirt in an apparent nod to the Lisbon Lions.

If you don't know already, the Lisbon Lions is the nickname given to the Celtic team that won the European Cup near Lisbon on the 25th of May 1967.

A classy gesture from Musonda, I'm sure you'll agree.

As we told you earlier today, the Chelsea midfielder was pictured arriving in Glasgow this morning ahead of putting the final touches on his 18-month loan deal with the Scottish champions.

Fans have waited patiently for an official announcement from the Hoops all day, and it eventually arrived just before 9pm, with the club confirming the move on Twitter - complete with graphics of Musonda accompanied by the initials 'JR 67':

Musonda's brother made reference to the Lisbon Lions on Twitter earlier today, and it appears Charly wants to pay tribute to the most famous Celtic team of all with his new squad number.

"I was aware that 67 is a special number here so that's why I took the number and now it's up to me to carry on the legend on the pitch and enjoy and hopefully I give the fans what they are looking for." Musonda said.

"They can expect to see a player who enjoys football, who is not afraid to show his quality, a bit of flair as well I like to enjoy myself on the pitch and hopefully I can do it for the team that's the most important thing.

For the fans I try to give my best for them. It's a big, big club like I say, so they can expect a player who is always happy, enjoys his football and hopefully I can do well for the team."

All being well, Musonda could be part of the squad to face Hearts at Celtic Park tonight - but what do you think of the signing?
