It appears Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to sell one of his star players.

Plenty of his talents continue to produce heroics, resulting in wide spread interest from Europe's elite.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli continue to be heavily linked with a move away from North London.

Not to mention Christian Eriksen, and, more recently, Mousa Dembele.

Though the Argentine manager is refusing to sell any of those aforementioned names.

But, according to Daily Mail, he's reportedly willing to listen to offers for Toby Alderweireld who's no longer Spurs' first-choice defender.

The report suggest the club have slapped a £50 million price tag on the Belgium defender, and are ready to offload the player.

And speaking ahead of trips to Chelsea and Stoke City, Pochettino isn't keen on changing his set-up to introduce Alderweireld back into the fold.

"I need to pick the players that I believe are the best players to win against Chelsea and then against Stoke. I cannot play with more than 11 and you need to choose.

"I am agreed that the players need to play and compete but for me, first of all every single player needs to show in the training session that they are better than their team-mate and then at that moment I pick.

He added: "Toby in the last four months has struggled with his injury. I am not going to change the system because Toby needs games for the World Cup.

"I need to pick two centre-backs and if you are happy you keep the couple of players and he needs to wait. The interest for me is Tottenham, it's about Tottenham to win, I understand the manager but what can I do.

"If he keeps working hard he is going to have the opportunity to play and compete but he is an experienced player. He needs to be fit and to be fit he needs to train every day.

Alderweireld, 29, is regarded as one of the finest defenders in the Premier League, and is subject to plenty of interest with the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, to name but a few, linked with his services.
