They've already snapped up Luka Jovic, Eden Hazard and Ferland Mendy, among others, with Zinedine Zidane now after a creative midfielder.
He's set his sights on Spurs' Danish international following initial interest in Manchester United's Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid are prepared to offer £45 million and Dani Ceballos for Eriksen, but the Premier League club prefer a more experienced player in return with the North London outfit identifying Marco Asensio.
Asensio, though, is not for sale with Zidane turning down Juventus' advances for the 23-year-old Spanish attacker.
Eriksen, meanwhile, is out of contract in 2020 though his days at Spurs are numbered after the 27-year-old confirmed he wants a new challenge.
"I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new," he explained.
"I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham - I will not be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
"I hope there will be a resolution during the summer. That's the plan.
"In football you do not know when a resolution will happen. It can happen anytime. Everyone wants the best to it to happen as soon as possible, but in football takes things time."
Eriksen has spent six seasons in England following his £11 million switch from Ajax in 2013.
