An absolute bargain...

A slew of free agents will be on the market in the summer transfer and Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Bernard is sure to be one who's in demand.

The 25-year old has been one of the Ukrainian outfit's main men ever since signing from Atletico Mineiro for a reported €25 million fee in 2013, becoming yet another Brazilian success story in Donetsk.

Bernard, who scored a stunning goal in the 2-1 Champions League group stage win over Manchester City in December, has played 150 times for Shakhtar, winning two Ukrainian league titles.

But it doesn't look like the Brazil international will be playing there beyond this season, as per Goal.

Out of contract in the summer, Bernard has rejected all proposals from his club to extend his stay and is therefore available to leave for free in the summer transfer window.

A return to his native Brazil with Palmeiras has been mooted, while Chinese Super League sides Jiangsu Suning and Hebei China Fortune showed interest in making him the latest high-profile Brazilian to move to the Far East.

However, surely several top European clubs will be monitoring his situation, especially given the recent track record of Shakhtar's stars in the top five European leagues.

His agent, Adriano Spadoto, says his client is ready to play in a top European league.

"Bernard is a player ready to play in any European championship," he told FC Inter News last week.

"Combined with his technical quality, he has accumulated five years of experience playing for Shakhtar in world-class competitions.

"It's always good that there's interest in him, it's a sign that work is being recognised. We're deciding Bernard's future and we cannot say anything else."

Do you think Bernard is a good fit at a bigger European club? Who should be in for him?
