Ronald Koeman seems to be doing a decent job of rebuilding confidence at Everton after Roberto Martinez's reign ended in defensively inept disaster, last season. However despite the improvements he's made at Goodison Park, Toffees fans probably won't be too pleased to hear the Dutchman's words of advice for Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian striker was linked with a move away from Merseyside throughout the summer and, despite resisting overtures for his star man, Koeman now believes the best career move for Lukaku is to leave Goodison Park.

Speaking to Dutch newspaper HLN, Koeman said, "I think he can emulate Patrick Kluivert, who also rose to prominence at a young age and enjoyed a fantastic career. He eventually played for Barcelona and I can see Lukaku doing the same. Everton should normally not be the end for him. Romelu will not have made the most of his career if he plays for Everton for the remainder of his career."

Lukaku has been in fine form, this season, scoring seven goals in all competitions. He is believed to be a target for Manchester United and former club Chelsea, with Everton rumoured to want £65m in order to secure his signature.
