Robbie Keane Set For A Return To England?

He's supported them since he was a kid, apparently

Robbie Keane could be set for one final move in his globetrotting career, with a return to England apparently on the cards.

Ireland's all time leading goal scorer has already taken in spells with Coventry City, Wolves, Leeds United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Aston Villa and West Ham in England, as well as taking trips abroad to play for Internazionale and LA Galaxy, could be about to jet into the North West of the country for a winter move to Preston North End.

The 36-year-old recently came to the end of his contract with LA Galaxy, where he has spent the past five years, lifting three MLS Cups in the process.

We're surprised Keane hasn't decided to join this lot in China, yet...

Keane had previously been linked with a move back to his native Ireland, with Shamrock Rovers reportedly in the driver's seat to secure a deal for the former Spurs striker, but now it would appear that Championship outfit North End have stolen a march on the competition and could bring the Irish hero to Deepdale before the end of the month.

Preston's Championship rivals Brighton were reported to have also registered an interest in Keane just over a week ago, but it would appear their interest has since waned.

Keane has yet to confirm whether or not he supported Preston as a kid and has dreamed of playing for them ever since.
