Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record of being the most expensive player purchased from a Swedish club is set to be broken, with Real Madrid closing in on the signature of 17-year-old Alexander Isak, from AIK Solna.

Isak made his senior international debut last week, coming off the substitute's bench during a 2-1 loss to the Ivory Coast, before marking his first start for the Swedish national team with a goal in a 6-0 thrashing of Slovakia. In doing so Isak became the youngest ever player to score for Sweden.

Will Isak succeed at the Bernabeu or go the way of these 'wonderkids'?

The teenager has found the net 13 times in 29 appearances for AIK and is now on the verge of securing a £8.8m switch to the Bernabeu.

The sum received by AIK would surpass the amount Malmo were paid by Ajax for Zlatan Ibrahimovic in 2001.

According to Aftonbladet, Isak will put pen-to-paper on a five-year deal which will see him arrive in the Spanish capital this Summer, with the European Champions' current transfer embargo forbidding them from bringing any new players aboard during the current transfer window.
