In May last year, Real Madrid decided to fork out a massive €45 million euros for then 16-year old Brazilian wonderkid Vinicius Junior, who has been touted the next big star in his country.

Junior, who has been loaned back to Flamengo and will continue to develop there until the Brazilian season has finished, is almost ready to make his long awaited bow at Los Blancos but his arrival may cause some unrest among teammates.

It has emerged in the Brazilian media that the 17-year-old will earn close to 7.5 million euros annually.

That means he would earn more than Real Madrid trio Marco Asensio, Casemiro and Dani Carvajal, as well as some other players in the squad.

The fact that a 17-year-old, who has yet to be capped by the club, would earn such a vast amount may unsettle players in the coming months but if he makes an impact, it could be worth the squeeze, as such.

I think it's fair to say that Vinicius Junior has a reputation and even before this summer's World Cup, a huge name reckoned he could have gone to Russia.

The Brazilian U-17 international said he was given confidence from the legendary Ronaldinho that he could be on the plane if he kept on performing.

"I dream of going [to the World Cup]," he said in an interview with Globo Esporte.

"Recently I spoke with Ronaldinho and he told me that they always take a young player. He told me to always remain focused. So that if the opportunity presents itself, I would be prepared. I keep this in my thoughts, you know, because he is Ronaldinho.

"I have always admired him a lot. He is the idol of all of us who love football. I have the dream of one day wearing the shirt of Brazil's Selecao. I don't know whether that will be this year or next, but I am evolving every day with Flamengo so that I can reach the moment when I can represent Brazil."

Vinicius could certainly be the future at the Bernabeu, but does he deserve to earn such a mass amount at his age?
