Gianluigi Buffon Is Set To Make Sensational Return To Juventus

Gianluigi Buffon is in advanced talks with Juventus about an incredible return to the club, according to reports.

The 41-year-old, who made 24 appearances in all competitions last season, has been a free agent since leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the start of June.

But it now looks like the Italian champions will snap up Buffon's services ahead of the new 2019/20 campaign.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that talks between both parties have been productive.

In fact, Buffon has already agreed that he will be number two to goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, who made 43 appearances in all competitions last season.

"In short, between Buffon and Juve it is not over." says the report.

He will reportedly sign a one year contract, with a future as a director, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The news comes after Leeds United were reportedly in the mix to sign the veteran goalkeeper.

Parma and Atalanta, among others, were also believed to be weighing up a summer move for Buffon, and Championship side Leeds were trying their luck, according to Corriere della Sera.

But it looks like Juve have won the race to sign their former goalkeeper of 17 years.

Thoughts on Buffon's fairytale return to Juventus? Or should he have tried his luck in England?
