It appears one of the most highly-rated Premier League midfielders has agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain.

The French champions look set to lose a midfielder in the shape of Adrien Rabiot who has reportedly struck a deal to join Barcelona.

Rabiot's PSG contract is set to expire at the end of the season with Barcelona reaching a pre-contract agreement.

And according to reports via Get French Football News, PSG will replace Rabiot's void by drafting in Watford's Abdoulaye Doucoure.

And they may be acquiring his services in January. However, Watford are demanding €50 million.

PSG's initial bid has been rejected with Watford's owner Gino Pozzo saying that he 'does not expect to see' his player 'leave shortly'.

Thomas Tuchel boasts plenty of high-profile midfielders most notably Italian star Marco Verratti and German ace Julian Draxler.

Doucoure, 25, joined Watford in 2015 from Rennes and he's currently in his third campaign in England's top flight having performed heroically, last season.

He featured in 37 top flight games, weighing in with seven goals from midfield and is on course for another superb term.

Doucoure was rewarded for his form with a new contract. He penned a deal in August which runs till 2023.

But clubs are still looking at him as a potential midfield transfer target.

Will he leave Vicarage Road in January or in the summer? Watch this space.
