"Are we doing this right, Man United?"

It seems that nowadays football clubs can't properly make a new signing official unless they produce an elaborate reveal video to share on their various social media accounts for retweets, shares and, most importantly, LOLZ.

I mean, unless your Arsenal, who just provided a link to an article to announce the arrival of Henrikh Mhkitaryan, yesterday evening.

Manchester United last night produced a new player reveal for the ages when they had Alexis Sanchez play 'Glory, Glory, Man United' on the piano before slowly taking to the Old Trafford pitch in dazzling, cinematic, slow-mo majesty.

Just watch it over and over, again. It's as brilliant as it is completely fucking ridiculous.

Given that the Sanchez video has racked up over 150,000 retweets, it's no wonder that it's taken all of about 20 hours for it to be parodied.

And, in the case of Motherwell FC and their announcement of Peter Hartley signing a permanent deal with the club, it has been parodied to within an inch of its life in sensational fashion.

Thirteen thousand retweets and counting doesn't lie and the reaction to the 'novelty mini piano and pissing down rai' version of the video has been overwhelmingly positive, even receiving the seal of approval from United themselves.

Well played, all round. Can someone sort a new signing out with a full blown one man band outfit next, please? Ta.
