Mario Gotze's Father Meets With Premier League Club

The race to Mario Gotze's signature is hotting up with some of Europe's elite monitoring his situation as it appears he is set for a move away from Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund have emerged as favourites to re-sign the German international, though his father has been in discussion with Tottenham Hotspurs during the Euro's, according to Bild.

They haven't been the only English club to express an interest after Liverpool emerged as possible contenders to land the player which would of reunited with him former boss Jurgen Klopp.

Spurs' approach may prove unsuccessful as further reports suggest he is set to remain in the Bundesliga as opposed to a fresh new challenger in the Premier League. The out-of-favour 24-year-old has had his playing time restricted at Bayern as he seeks for first team football.

Dortmund are in need of replacing the creative midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who signed for Manchester United, and Gotze could be the ideal replacement especially having experienced a spell at the Westfalenstadion. He amassed 116 appearances while scoring 31 goals in first stint before his big-money move to Bayern.
