Marco Reus Wanted By European Giant In The Summer

He's had his fair share of injury problems...

Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is attracting interest from AC Milan, with sportswear giant Puma heavily involved in the rumoured move.

The Rossoneri have just signed a long-term deal with the german brand, ending their association with Adidas. As of next season, Milan will be wearing kits made by Puma, who are said to be pushing for the club to land Reus as their next marquee signing, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport.

One might wonder how much influence a kit manufacturer has in transfer dealings but it's worth noting that Nike were central to Neymar's big move to Barcelona from Santos in 2012.

Reus is one of Puma's premier athletes and ambassadors and is one of the finest attacking players in world football on his day.

Unfortunately, wretched luck with injuries have hindered the Dortmund skipper's progress and prevented him from kicking on.

Milan will of course be well aware of the 28-year old's injury troubles, while it's been noted by BVB Buzz that Milan's sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli is reluctant to sign injury-prone players.

With Puma encouraging the deal though, would he be prepared to make an exception?

Moreover, the talk is that Milan are likely to watch him in Europa League action against Atalanta on Thursday.

The Germany international has only just recovered from a ligament injury sustained in the DFB Pokal final win over Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of last season, making three appearances so far this term.

Clearly, his special talents remain though and he got off the mark for the season in style against former club Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend, displaying wonderful technique to smash home a belting effort in off the crossbar and open the scoring.
