Michael Carrick is on the verge of a sensational cross-city transfer to Manchester City in January - well, at least, that's according to Tim Sherwood.
Last night, former England international Carrick put in a vintage performance against Fenerbahce in the Europa League, helping current club Man Utd to a resounding 4-1 victory.

Now 35, and out of contract at the end of the season, last night was Carrick's first start of the season, and he's yet to be in any Jose Mourinho's Premier League starting XIs.

That could prompt Carrick to ruin a decade-long legacy with the United supporters by moving to the Etihad Stadium in the winter transfer window, says Sherwood.
